Samara Martins: So if you can pay women less... Men end up submitting to lower wages, because otherwise [the employer] says, 'no, then I can hire a woman and pay a lower salary.'
Samara Martins: And that still exists.
Women receive 25% less than men doing the same job.
Samara Martins: Black women receive about 53% less than men doing the same job.
Samara Martins: And this is predominantly in private employment, because in public employment you have people's career plans, and regardless of whether they are men or women, they will receive the same salary.
