Samara Martins: and they invade our occupation spaces to beat people, beat the teachers, pepper-spray faces, in the same logic as the military police.
Samara Martins: The penal police, who were the jailers— I work in a prison— who should be there to guarantee order inside a prison, but they want to deliver justice, and then you have tortures inside the prisons, modeled on the military dictatorship.
So, the logic of the militarization of the police, and of life, because now they even want to militarize schools and make us into an army there, is not right.
Samara Martins: And that is the logic of our defense, of ending the military police.
Samara Martins: It's that we have community police... that they see their people as citizens, and they have to guarantee order there, they have to guarantee the laws, they have to guarantee things, and it can't be a police that thinks itself above good and evil, even with separate courts, because they have military courts and they are judged by their own, so they are not tried by the regular justice system, and then you create absolute power for those in uniform.
