Simone Tebet: What enrages me as a teacher is knowing that a prisoner in São Paulo, on average in Brazil but in São Paulo, costs more than two thousand reais, while in São Paulo's high school less than a thousand reais is spent per high school student.
So it is not acceptable that we spend so much on the penitentiary system and that those who are imprisoned neither work nor study.
Simone Tebet: We need to change this reality at the national level.
Simone Tebet: It is necessary to require that these prisoners study and work, so that they can be resocialized.
