Samara Martins: So [things like] pepper spray, having ways to get out of an attack, so women aren't assaulted.
Samara Martins: So we don't think we should now just rely on the police to defend us, because normally they don't defend us—we're from another class.
But that women should not be left without protection either.
Samara Martins: So we've been doing this even in our women's violence reference centers, producing pepper sprays, those devices that might not be considered weapons but can serve as protection—women listening will know what I mean.
Samara Martins: All women have gotten off a bus running with a key positioned between their fingers.
