Kim Kataguiri: And it's not as if this will make the product cheaper and that the product will still be there.
Kim Kataguiri: There simply will be no product. There will be shortages, because the Government does not want to assume the burden of taking an unpopular but necessary measure. Hence my opposing position, Mr. President.
Mr. President, price control doesn't work; it only generates shortages, only generates smuggling, only strengthens crime.
Kim Kataguiri: We have already had this experience. We should have learned this decades ago, back in the Sarney Government.
Kim Kataguiri: Once again the same practice is repeated, with the same rhetoric, wanting to shift the blame for fuel prices onto the entrepreneur, when in reality it stems from the Government's own incompetence in structuring its public policy, even to grant incentives.
