Gabriel Azevedo: There is the Belo Horizonte metropolitan region, there is the Vale do Aço metropolitan region.
Gabriel Azevedo: There are two regional arrangements I would like to make as governor, in the Triângulo and in Juiz de Fora, different from a metropolitan region — because, according to the 2015 Statute of the Metropolis, you can only have a metropolitan region with conurbation.
But there's one thing we have to implement right away: fare integration.
Gabriel Azevedo: Imagine, you there in São Paulo who already know what the 'bilhete único' is — which has worked for 20 years in that metropolitan region — that in Minas Gerais we don't have an integrated fare card.
Gabriel Azevedo: The metropolitan fare here, which is operated by the state government, ranges from about R$ 9 to R$ 32.
